Birth record is found in Protestant Parish Register, Wiesenbach, Wurttemberg, Germany, Film 1 528624, it. 2-3. Death date from death record in Christ Lutheran Church of York, PA.
Marriage to Ana Dorothea Friedlin is found in LutheranChurch Records Hoffenheim, Baden, Germany Film 1189197 p. 518. It said 11 Jul1730 Martin Weigel son of Veltin Weigel of Onoltzbach and Anna Dorothea Friedlin, father miller (here) dead Nicolas Friedel. Ana Dorothea was already pregnant.
Migrated in 1730, arriving in Philadelphia on the Ship "Samuel" from Rotterdam.

[1600] Death record of Christ Lutheran Church says Weigels immigrated 1730, but passenger list makes clear it was 1732. "Merdin Weiggell", listed as age 24 (age apparently wrong), and Torothea Weiggell, age 20, arrived in Philadelphia on the ship Samuel, Hugh Percy, Commander, from Rotterdam via Cowes. No Weigel seems among the listed children though the eldest child reportedly had already been born. IN list of those qualified at the courthouse, name appears as Mardin Weigell. All are listed, however, as "Palatines", but that apparently was used generically for all immigrants from western Germany. (Strassburger and Hinke, pp. 60-66.
[2205] Dull gives 1729, but citation to original document gives 1730. Should not be an Old Style/New Style problem in Germany at this time, and 1729 may be an attempt to explain the proximity of marriage and first birth.
