[544] In 1830 census of Clark County shown as 20-30, giving birthdate between 1800-1810. However he MAY be the John B. Chestnut, born Ohio, both parents born VA, who appears age 63 in 1800 census -- thus with birthdate of 1817 -- with wife Abigail (59, born Ohio, father born NJ, mother born MD); children Milo C. Chestnut, 23, born Iowa, and Charles, 21, born IN. Found in Rochester, Fulton Co., IN in 1880 census, page #58B. But our Joseph B. seems to have been older than this man.

[364] Birthdate also given as 30 April 1723; Morton, Highland County, gives 1723 as approximate date. Wade family records apparently give specific date, but both 1723 and 1724 appear. England or Wales said to be origin, though at least some Internet sites specify Pembroke without citing source.
