[47] Not known which children go with which wife. I have arbitrarily listed all with first wife though this is probably not the case. The order is unknown but William probably first. Served in Ensign William Lamma's Company of Clark Co. OH Militia in war of 1812, serving Sept. 18-Oct 18 1813. Name spelled "Chestnut" on roll. Joseph appears in Bath Co., VA records through 1795, does not seem to appear in Ohio till a land grant in 1812. Location not known in between, but William, born 1796 or 1797, always listed his birthplace as Virginia.

[46] By Jan. 1816 Joseph's wife is named Nancy as shown by the deed in which he gives up claims to father's land; presumably Mary had died by then.

[2113] Date is that of marriage bond

[2147] Mentioned in wife in deed of Jan. 7, 1816, so Mary Corbett Chesnut must have died prior to that date.
