"Uncle Henry" Wikle Dead
Funeral Services Held at Corrine, Utah,
Thursday of this week
Uncle Henry Wikle died at his home in Corrine, Utah on Tuesday of thisweek after a sickness lasting several weeks. Uncle Henry was back here afew months ago and at that time it was noticeable that he was rapidlydeclining in health. He was eighty-five years of age at the time of hisdeath.
It was back yonder in the sixties that the four Wikle brothers Jeptha,Marion, Henry and John H came to Kansas from Texas. They all settledalong the Neosho River, just south of Erie. Jeptha has been dead manyyears; John H has been residing in Kansas City for several years; Marionresides over in Walnut Grove township. Uncle Henry was the last of theWikle boys to leave his river bottom farm and that was only three yearsago. He went from here to Utah and his wife died shortly afterwards andwas buried in the cemetery at Corrine. Uncle Henry was a Mason, havingbeen a member of the Erie Masonic Lodge since it's organization and theMasonic Lodge at Corrine had charge of his funeral service yesterday.Uncle Henry Wikle was a mighty good citizen and his death will be keenlyfelt by all his old pioneer friends in this community.
