[39] According to press reports in the files, a memorial was placed in the Confederate portion of the Vaiden Cemetery for the Confederate soldiers known to have died at the Vaiden hospital; George W. Alexander's name appeared on the list. It is not apparent that the specific grave is known, but a monument now exists. A photo is in the files.
